Hola familia y amigos!!
How are you all?! THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD WEEK! We are up and running, SPRINTING, in Ontario. There is SO much to do and we are seriously blessed with people to teach.
Since we've been in Ontario, we realized there are a lot of taco places. I mentioned it before, but it's true. They're all over the place. And we made it our goal that during our time in Ontario, we would try all of the places and find the ones that were our favorites. So far, we've tried 6 different places. 3 were really good. 3 weren't. Hah I think that's one thing I'm going to bring back from my mission, or at least from Ontario. A LOVE OF TACOS!! They're so good! That is, when they're done right. ;) #tacosforthewin
We had a realllly cool experience this week. We went to a dinner appointment and were surprised by who was there. The members we were eating with had invited their neighbor, Maria, to come over. She spoke Spanish. It went really well and then when we were sharing the message at the end, she actually asked us if we could teach her more about the Bible and what we talk about. We didn't even have to ask. We didn't want to pressure her or make it weird, but she was awesome and asked us! Then we were able to teach her just a few days later and then again yesterday! She just soaks up everything and really understands. And her 8-year-old daughter, Natalie, likes what we teach too. They both had questions and we instantly connected with them. AND THEN they came to church and really loved it. YAYYY! Natalie kept saying she didn't want it to end. They are amazing and I'm so excited to see where things go. It was definitely a miracle and it gave us so much excitement and motivation to work even harder.
Also this week, it's been in the 100s all week. So one of the days we went to a part-member family who we're teaching and after we were done teaching, we went outside and had a water fight! It was super fun and good to get to know the kids more. I'm so amazed at how much people are so willing to love. We don't really know them that much, but people give us things and open up about their lives, and we even got invited to a quincenera of a girl we JUST met. The people here are so friendly and loving and I love being a missionary!
I hope you all have an amazing week and stay safe! LOVE YOU!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley
