Hola familia y amigos!
I don't have too too much time to email. It's been a crazy p-day. There are some other sisters who are moving into our apartment and so things have been very busy. So I'll be short and sweet with my email. This was an amazing week. The snow and ice started melting and it warmed up a bit. It got all the way up to 50 degrees! So we were able to drive normally and get more work done. We got more work done even though we spent one whole day in a meeting, zone conference.
It was actually a really cool conference. It was called "Fast and Feast" because we were challenged to fast and then we ate a thanksgiving dinner. We were asked to come into the meeting REALLY seeking revelation and ready to learn. Then we had various speakers, read the whole Book of Mormon in 40 minutes, and had a testimony meeting. It was actually really cool. Aaaand, I was one of the missionary speakers! President called me last week to speak and he told me to just choose a topic. So I thought a lot about it and prayed and ended up talking about scripture study. Of all things, kinda random. But I connected how there are different ways of studying the scriptures. There's snacking and tasting, but how do we really FEAST on the scriptures? And it was only a 5 minute talk, so I didn't go too in-depth. But it was an awesome reminder of the importance of the scriptures and the Book of Mormon specifically. That this is a necessary thing for our souls and it can literally FILL us, where we feel empty or where we lack. And when we have this, it doesn't matter how many things we have in life or what temporal things we own, but that we can be happy with this knowledge.
We've had a bunch of miracles and some cool experiences with people we're teaching this last week. Heavenly Father truly knows what we need. He knows what challenges we need for us to learn things to become better people and closer to Him. I'll tell you more about it next week! Look forward to it! :)
Have an amazing week and take care everyone!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley
Sorry, I didn't take any photos this week...
