Hola familia y amigos!
This was a really good week! We had a lot of opportunities to do service this week. We had a member and a man we are teaching both accept our offer for service. AND we were asked to come help out at a service project in our district. We did yardwork for all of them. I have become a pro at weeding and raking up lawn clippings, but I still have never mowed a lawn! It was really cool to see how just serving people truly softened their hearts and showed that we love them.
One crazy experience that happened this week really showed us how Heavenly Father is watching over us. We were driving along after an appointment and all of a sudden it felt like I had hit something huge! But the street was completely flat and I hadn't seen anything... So I kept driving along then felt the car driving differently. It was all bumpy and rocky. Then I pulled over. Hna. Jacuinde checked and the back tire had popped! But I was pulled over on a pretty busy road, so I had to move. I drove really slowly to a smaller road and pulled up behind this truck that was also pulled over. Right as I got there, these 2 older men, covered in dirt, got out of the truck and started walking towards us. We were kinda freaking out, but then I rolled down my window. Turned out that they were mechanics and had seen what happened and they were just sitting there, waiting for us. Woah. I first thought to myself, WHAT A COINCIDENCE THAT WE PULLED UP BEHIND MECHANICS! But, let's be real, it's not coincidence. They came up, helped us put our spare tire on in like 5 minutes, and then left! We were trying to talk to them, but they were in a hurry. But, in that whole experience, we just felt soo blessed. It was reallllly cool.
I also saw a lot this week how Satan is so real. He really tempts people with exactly what he knows will be hard for them. Especially when he knows we're trying our hardest to do what's right and follow Heavenly Father is when he goes at full speed to influence us to do the opposite. Heavenly Father knows our hearts, but Satan knows our experiences. Satan knows what we've been through and our weaknesses to be able to tempt us. That's why it's soo hard when he tempts. We had a few people we're teaching who are so close and so ready for baptism, but they're hesitant because Satan is coming at them right now. They both have influences that are causing them to question everything. This happens in life, but Heavenly Father is aware. He lets us go through things because He gave us agency and we have to experience things that will help us grow. He's aware and wants us to be happy. He wants to help us. We just have to go to Him. THAT'S the challenge.
I hope you all have an amazing week!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley
