Familia y amigos!
How was your week?! Hope all is going great! I definitely had a good week. It went by soooo fast! I was just here last week, emailing you all and here I am again! Seems like just yesterday. This week went by so fast probably because we are working really hard. We did a ton of service again this week. Last Monday, we had a member call us and tell us they had to move out of their house THAT DAY, so they were desperate for help. We weren't super excited about it because it was our p-day, but we went and it was worth it. They were super grateful and we got a lot done. We ended up getting everything done that we needed to do, so it was alright. Service on Hermana Ekonomo's first p-day. We just joked about it.
Also what happened Monday is we went to dinner at the house of a member of our ward. The little boy was super excited for us to be there and even found candy in his room to give us for desert. When we were done, he really wanted us to play this little math game that his mom had made for him. We just roll the dice and move along a board. We started playing and he got really far ahead and was winning the whole time. At one point H. Ekonomo says, "Ahhh, look where we are! So far behind." Then Xavier says, "At least you're somewhere!!" hahahaha Yes, Xavier, yes. At least we're somewhere. He was trying to make us feel better, but it just made us laugh.
And that kind of relates to what I learned a lot about. The fact that we're all somewhere in our progression. We're all somewhere in our faith. Whether it's just starting out as a little seed or whether we just have a desire to believe something, a desire to plant our seed of faith. OR whether we're all grown as a big plant. Wherever we are, we're somewhere and everyone else is somewhere else. We're in progress and right where we're supposed to be at this time. Heavenly Father knows where we are and doesn't want us to feel down on ourselves or compare with others. Everyone has to start somewhere and has to work to grow from where they're at. And how we grow that faith we have is by feeding it every day. Feeding it with prayer and scripture study and acting on our faith. THAT'S how our faith grows.
Hope you all have an amazing week! Hasta luego!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley
PS It has rained a few times this past week and it reminded me of Washington. But the difference is that here it dries up really fast.
Me with a cute animal! Sweetest little puppy we found outside a member's house.
