So much (December 1, 2014)

Familia y amigos!
So much happened this week! I'll try to keep it concise. First of all, it snowed this morning. We also, because it was the last few days of the month, went to the outskirts, the very border of our area. The farthest place we can go. Because we had miles. :) We made the most of it and knocked on every door we drove by. I was very surprised by how they mostly just rejected us...
Also, we had Thanksgiving. We had SO MANY people ask us if we had somewhere to eat and invited us to eat with them. But we had to turn them down. We had a lunch appointment and then later a dinner (about an hour later...). Lunch was with a family from our ward and dinner was with members from english, but who have been called to work in our spanish ward. So it was really really nice. But about halfway through dinner, I COULD NOT eat another bite. I felt a bit nauseous. Sooo I just ate most of dinner. It was all really good. I've never eaten so much rice at thanksgiving. No tortillas, though. Mostly the traditional stuff. Turkey, potatoes, bread, stuffing. Also some beans. Very interesting and awesome. Also, our plan that we came up with for Thanksgiving: because we knew everyone would be with their families, we decided to make baked goods and go around to people. If they were busy, we would just drop it off and share a thanksgiving message. We made a ton of flan and banana bread. It worked out really well, but we didn't give it all away. Sooo we MAY have eaten some... Anyways, it was awesome.
We also were invited by President Cannon to come to the mission home and help them put up their Christmas tree. That was pretty fun. We got there late because we had a correlation meeting, but it worked out just fine.
Lastly, there's something amazing that we're starting! It's called "He is the Gift." It's a video that the church put out. It's about how Jesus Christ is the real gift of the season. He was the very first gift and most important. It was given to every person to ever live. It was infinite and perfect. And we have this special time where the world unites to celebrate this gift. This is the message they share in the video. It's on mormon.org. Specifically christmas.mormon.org . The three things it invites us all to do is to 1. discover the gift (learn more of Christ and what he means to you) 2. embrace the gift (apply this knowledge to our own lives through prayer and study and service, etc.) and then 3. share the gift (whenever we have something that brings us happiness, it's just natural to want to share it and help others with that thing). SOOOO I invite you all to watch this video and then do these three things. AND THEN, share those experiences with me and others. How are YOU doing these three things? I'd love to hear from you about it!! Really doing these things with your full heart and intention will bless your life this season and year. It will even change your life. That's the power of Christ. I know it and love it.
Hope you all have an amazing week!
Con amor,

The banana bread and flan we made.

The sisters in my district. Left to right: Sister Gray, from American Samoa; Sister Ho, from Macao, China; me; Hermana Ekonomo, from Honduras. We're pretty diverse. :)

Sunset

When we went to the farthest edge of our area. It was about 40 minutes away from our house. The river is the border. The Boise River, I think. Gooooood times.
