Familia y amigos!
I don't think I will ever have a normal transfer call. I realized that. It's always totally unexpected and I get moved around a lot! So yes. As you have guessed, I got transferred again!! Hermana Poblete is staying in Ontario and I am going back to Nampa! I am going to be with Hermana Jacuinde. She's from Mexico, but she has been living in Arizona for awhile. She has been in this area for awhile but this is her last transfer, so she is leaving it to me. I'll probably be here for awhile. I'm excited to be in Nampa but really sad to be leaving Ontario. The people surprised me with how awesome they were. The branch is little, but it'll grow. All in time. Here in Nampa, there's a whole ward and it's thriving. I have no idea how the north area is, but I've heard it's really good.
As for this week, it was really good. We were low on miles, so we went out with members who drove us. That was a really good experience. The ladies were really helpful in the lessons and we had fun. We even went out with a lady from an English ward to Spanish people and she contributed! She didn't understand very much, but she just confidently bore her testimony. And we actually had a cool experience. We went to this address, looking for a past investigator, but she had moved. So we were walking to the car and I had this feeling we should knock on this certain door. We went over and tried it. A man came to the door super fast. He told us he didn't have very much time before he was leaving, but that he had gone to our church before, before he moved here. And actually asked us to come back and teach him and where the church was!! He is amazing! And it was really cool to know that the spirit prompted me to go over there so we could meet.
One thing that I am constantly learning here on my mission is that everything happens for a reason. We meet people and go through certain experiences because it's what Heavenly Father knows we need. Not only what we need, but what those around us need as well. And the hard things that we go through just make us stronger. We learn things and grow in all the ways that will stretch us. And that, conveniently, is usually exactly what we're not prepared for. But Heavenly Father does that to us because he wants us to be the best we can be and to become more like Him. He does it because He loves us. All He does is because He loves us. Preeeetty cool.
Well, I love you all and hope you have an amazing week!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley
The stake center is right across from a Jehovah's Witness building. It's pretty ironic. When we tell people the address, we have to clarify that it's the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. Not JWs.
This was my Ontario district. Officially the most awkward district photo ever. hahahah
