Couches and Investigators (December 15, 2014)

Hola familia y amigos!
How is everyone?! How are things going with the "He's the Gift"? Any cool experiences?
We, over here in Nampa, are doing great! We had a realllly busy week and worked super hard. We actually had tons of set appointments. So that was nice. Buuut what wasn't so nice is that on one of our really crucial days, I was sick. I've been kinda starting to get sick for awhile. Then we were in an appointment on Wednesday and I was dyyying. My nose was running like crazy and I was just trying to be natural. Luckily, I had some tissues. So at one point I just reached down and slipped one out. But in the middle, I couldn't do it. I had to go to the bathroom to blow my nose and let it all out. Then we finished that lesson. I haven't really gotten sick on my mission (knock on wood, not that I'm superstitious...) but after this lesson, I had to resign. I spent pretty much a whole day sleeping. And we worked it out so that I could stay home with a sister and sleep and then Hermana Ekonomo could go out to our appointments. So it was alright.
We also had another few miracles. We had this lady who is less active finally come to church. Her name is Hermana Dominguez. We've been working with her a lot and I've actually been able to see her faith grow. She is starting to be really good about reading the Book of Mormon and remembering the importance of Christ in her life. When I first met her, she would just talk and talk and not leave any time to talk about the gospel. And she would purposely avoid it. And we would always invite her and she would say, "Oh, if God allows." or she would actually tell us she was going and then not come. But yesterday she CAME!! It was a big miracle.
Then another cool thing that happened is that as Hermana Ekonomo was out that day I was sick, they found a house that was giving some free couches and they said we could have them. I was a little hesitant when she told me this, but she said they were actually really good. That the reason they were giving them away was because they bought new couches. So anyways, we went back later with one of our members who has a truck to pick them up. Then we talked to the man's wife. We got talking and she pretty much told us that she was looking for a place to go to church. And that they were lonely in the US and needs friends. PERFECT! The hermano who was with us just invited her and testified and it was legit! We are going back this week! It was awesome. It was seriously an inspired moment and a blessing. I'm super excited to go back. PLUS, the couches are really good. We have to vacuum them and clean them up a bit, but they are working great! We got some free couches and new investigators, all in one! Heavenly Father really does help us when we try to do what's right and when we're seeking missionary experiences. This was just one of many little blessings I've seen since I've been on my mission and I love it! I am so grateful for His help.
Hope you all have an amazing week! Remember to watch and share the "He's the Gift" video and tell me how it goes!
Con amor,
Hermana Shirley

Our couches--I couldn't really get them very well because my camera won't zoom out.

We celebrated staying together with some sparkling cider. :)
